How I help
I support you in understanding the emotional and mental changes that can come with menopause, so things feel less confusing and overwhelming. Together, we create space to talk about what you’re experiencing, while also finding practical ways to manage mood changes, anxiety, and feeling out of balance. My approach is calm, supportive and tailored to you, helping you navigate this stage of life with more clarity and ease.
Who it’s for

This is for women who feel overwhelmed, out of balance, or not quite like themselves during menopause or perimenopause. You might be experiencing mood swings, anxiety, low energy, or changes in identity and direction. It’s for women looking for emotional support, understanding, and guidance through this transition, in a way that feels gentle and supportive.
What is CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)? CBT helps you identify the thought patterns that fuel anxiety, low mood, or stress, and replace them with more balanced, workable ones. It's practical and structured: you leave sessions with specific tools, not just insight. Best for: anxiety, negative thought spirals, low mood, unhelpful habits What it looks like: identifying triggers, challenging automatic thoughts, building new response patterns. Nervous system impact: repeatedly interrupting a spiralling thought pattern reduces the frequency of stress-hormone spikes, which over time makes it easier for your body to settle back into a calm baseline instead of staying on high alert.
Somatic therapy: Somatic therapy works with the body, not just the mind. Trauma and chronic stress get stored physically — as tension, a racing heart, or a body that feels frozen or disconnected. Somatic work helps release that stored stress directly. Best for: chronic tension, feeling disconnected from your body, stress that talk therapy alone hasn't shifted What it looks like: breathwork, body awareness, tracking physical sensations, gentle movement Nervous system impact: somatic techniques speak directly to your autonomic nervous system — the part of you that controls fight-or-flight and rest-and-digest. Slow breathing and body awareness activate the vagus nerve, which shifts you out of a stressed state and into a calmer, more regulated one, often within minutes.
Trauma healing therapy Trauma healing addresses experiences that overwhelmed your ability to cope at the time, and that your nervous system may still be reacting to in the present — even if the danger has long passed. This work is paced carefully so you're never pushed further than you're ready for. Best for: past trauma, PTSD symptoms, flashbacks, feeling "stuck" in old reactions What it looks like: processing memories safely, understanding trauma responses, rebuilding a sense of safety Nervous system impact: trauma often leaves the nervous system primed to react to safe situations as if they were dangerous. Working through this gradually widens your "window of tolerance" — the range of stress you can experience while staying calm and thinking clearly, rather than tipping into fight, flight, or shutdown.
Sensory processing techniques to lower peaks For clients who feel overwhelmed quickly — by noise, emotion, or sensory input — we teach specific techniques to bring intensity down before it peaks. - Grounding through the senses (texture, temperature, sound) to interrupt escalation - Paced breathing patterns that directly slow your heart rate and calm your body - Recognising early warning signs of overwhelm, so you can intervene sooner rather than later
Personalised toolkits: Strategies that are actually yours and developing new skills. Generic coping strategies don't stick because they're not built for your specific triggers, body, and life. We work with you to build a toolkit of strategies and skills that fit how *you* actually respond to stress — so you have something reliable to reach for outside of sessions. Skills matched to your specific triggers and patterns A mix of in-the-moment tools (for when you're overwhelmed) and longer-term strategies (for building resilience) Revisited and adjusted over time as your needs change
